Career Misconception #6 “A Good Job is a Secure Job”

December 17th 2020 in Video

Remember the idea of job security?
Once upon a time, it was considered an asset.
Now, it can be a liability.
It’s not just because itโ€™s a myth, but if you’re avoiding risk you’re also avoiding change, which can hurt you long term.

Try this instead:
Think instead of
You are investing your time, which is arguably your most important currency.

When you make that shift in attitude, you can start to look at your job in terms of your return on investment. Looking at your career ROI, in a monetary and in a personal sense, gives you the freedom to leave a bad job with a clearer conscience than money alone.
