Weekend Recharge: Revisit the Past

November 22nd 2013 in Uncategorized

I was recently loaned Great Grandmother Merritt’s scrap books.  The first one is more than 100 years old and has little bits of everything she found to be important.  I’ve begun pouring over those on the weekends when I have an extra hour or so and I’m learning so many things I just didn’t know before.  I’m close to my family, but nothing tells the stories like revisiting past homesteads, reading old scrapbooks, or viewing old photo albums.  Each time I open one up I feel a connection I didn’t have before.  I find a part of myself that suddenly feels explained or makes sense in a way that it didn’t before.  It recharges the soul.  So this weekend, pull out an old photo album or sit and listen to stories told by your elders and find the connections that will inspire you for years to come.

Enjoy your weekend!
